Tavares Day @ SATEC is coming September 14th!

It is with great enthusiasm we announce that Matt Tavares is coming to SATEC!  Matt is an author and illustrator who has published nineteen books and won several awards - including three Parents' Choice Gold Awards, an Orbis Pictus Honor, and two ALA Notable books. His artwork has been exhibited at the Museum of American Illustration, the Brandywine River Museum, and the Mazza Museum of Picture Book Art.  We are so honored to host him in our library!

Odyssey Of The Mind

What is Odyssey of the Mind?

A team creative thinking and problem solving competition that runs from mid-October to March 16 (state competition day).  (Typically one practice a week)

Who can participate?

Any SATEC student in grades K-8 (no cost, but there will be a fundraiser to participate in).  Teams are put together based on interests, grade level and volunteer coach availability. To be on a team, students must be able to work with other students and be considerate of others ideas (teamwork).   Students also need to have the desire to be creative and have fun!!
Want to learn more about Odyssey of the Mind and possibly sign up?
Come to a family night to learn more about this program and participate in some Odyssey of the Mind activities!  Past participants are encouraged to attend and share their experiences with the program.
When?
September 21th in the SATEC cafeteria from 6:30-7:30.
