Daily Announcements: Tuesday, Dec. 14th ~ COVID Update Included

 Tuesday, December 14th

December 13, 2021

Greetings SATEC Community,

We received information that several members of our school community have tested positive for COVID 19.

We have communicated with the affected students/staff about their quarantine requirements.

We encourage all staff, students, and families to follow all the necessary COVID guidelines (wearing masks, staying home when sick, physical distancing, and handwashing) and communicate with one of our nurses if you or your children might have symptoms or have tested positive with COVID-19.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support.

Angela and Jason

The Maple Run Unified School District would like to invite you to a community conversation on Thursday, December 16th from 5 - 7 pm at the Collins Perley Sports & Fitness Center at 890 Fairfax Road, Saint Albans. This will be held in collaboration with Partners in Restorative Change, consultants who work with the district to develop a climate and culture that is built on community, relationships, voice, respect and belonging.

We will talk about what kind of community we want to be. Many community members of color have shared that they have not been treated well or have felt unwelcomed. Is this what we want? What is involved in creating a community where we all feel welcomed? This can only happen together.

This community conversation will be an opportunity for a facilitated, authentic dialogue with students, community leaders, people you may know, people you may not know, people who agree with you, and people who disagree with you. This is a chance to really talk and listen, and build our community together by getting to know each other in ways that we often don’t have the chance or opportunity.

For questions, please contact Erin at erocheleau@maplerun.org 370-3937.

We, MRUSD and Partners in Restorative Change, would love for you to attend.

Masks are required. Thank you.

Test to Stay Information

The Test-to-Stay program is for unvaccinated students that are required to quarantine due to school exposure ONLY. If you have not received communication from your child’s school to quarantine due to school exposure, your child is not eligible for this program. If your child has COVID symptoms they should not participate in this program, because they should not attend school with symptoms.

The 7 day Test to Stay Program replaces the need for a PCR test on day 7. If you choose to not participate in Test to Stay then students will need a PCR test on day 7 to exit their quarantine and return to school.

There are 2 steps to signing up for this testing, consent to the testing and the reporting system. You must complete BOTH registrations in order to participate. Please visit the following links to register: Consent Form & Reporting System.

The Test-to-Stay program is being conducted behind the Maple Run District Office building on Market Street from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on school days.

Students participating in the program must test daily for 7 days in order to attend school.

If students that have a day 7 falls on a non-school day they will need to test on the next school day to exit their required quarantine

If you have any questions please contact Aron Smith, (802) 370-3941 or asmith@maplerun.org.
