With the anticipated below zero temperatures forecasted for tonight, January 7th, Kevin Dirth, the Superintendent of the Franklin Central Supervisory Union, has made the decision to delay the start of school for two hours on Thursday, January 8th.

This will hopefully allow our bus companies the time they may need to ensure that their buses are ready to pick students up in the morning. Please have your children wait inside for their bus. Bus drivers are aware that they need to wait for students. If the bus picks you up normally at 7:30 a.m. you will be picked up at 9:30 a.m.

Parents, please be sure to impress on your children the need for warm jackets, hats and gloves or mittens when the weather gets this cold. Also, be aware that circumstances may change in the morning and we may need to cancel school altogether, if necessary.

Open Doors:
Registration forms for our Winter Session were handed out to students in grades 1-8 on  Monday afternoon. We have a variety of great programs, including two new programs for 7th & 8th graders to travel to BFA’s Northwest Technical Center and have the opportunity to work with Adobe Photoshop or Computers Engineering!

The Deadline is Friday, January 9th. Open Doors After School Program  will begin on Monday, January 12th. Please contact Ms. Rose Bedard at mrbedard@fcsuvt.org or 752-2703.

Girls on the Run Coaches!
Open Doors is working to implement the fabulous “Girls on the Run” program into our after school program this upcoming spring. Girls in grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to be a part of this prestigious program that will finish with a 5K this June.  Our first step with making our hopes become a reality to recruit and train coaches. If you are interested in being a volunteer coach, please contact Rose Bedard at 802-752-2703 or mrbedard@fcsuvt.org.
