As we enter the last week of winter sports we want to remind players that their jerseys need to be handed in to Ms. Rose in the back lobby. All Jerseys need to be washed and placed in the plastic bag that there were given in, along with the sheet that identifies their name, #, and team. There will be a blue bin for students to put the jerseys and shorts  in. Jersey that are not returned by March 11th  will be considered “lost” and those players will receive a bill for $30.00 to help replace it.

A Message from the ACT 46 Committee

Everyone wants to know if tax rates will go up or down. A definitive answer to that is not possible because of all of the parts used in the formula to set the tax rate. Clearly, if school unification passes, taxes will be ten cents lower the first year, eight cents the second year, etc. than it would be without the incentives. Tax rates in the three towns will be less volatile since expenses are spread over a broader tax base. The state has approved various incentives worth millions of dollars to support mergers, which will cover any up-front merger costs (transitions in payroll systems, new contract negotiations, etc.) and may even cause a lower tax rate.  In the longer term, the merger’s administrative efficiencies should help to slow down cost increases.
