Open Doors:
Open Door’s Junior Iron Chef cooking program is looking for new candidates in grade 6-8 to train after school throughout the year to compete in a statewide “Iron Chef”  Cooking Competition. Please see Ms. Rose or Ms.Juana Berry if interested.

Athletics:
Cross Country 3:30-4:30
All participants must have the correct paperwork filled out and handed into Ms. Rose in order to practice. Students will meet in the gym at dismissal. There will be a brief parent/participant meeting in the gym at 4:30.

SATEC FOUR WINDS PROGRAM
Are you interested in being involved in your child’s classroom at SATEC? The SATEC Four Winds Nature Program is a great way to share a love of science and nature with your child in their classroom. A SATEC Four Winds Nature Program volunteer does not require a science degree or a teaching certification; just an interest in learning, sharing and being involved in your child’s classroom. Volunteers are supplied with all the materials and trained for each lesson.

During the 2014-2015 school year the SATEC Four Winds Nature Program will be studying
Patterns in Nature with 5 units:
All sorts of Insects Animal Disguise/Surprise
Tracks Snow Nests

**** We are still in need of volunteers for the following classes/communities in order for

The first training will be in the library on Tuesday, September 9th from 8:30-10:30.


Bus Information:
This year, due to the capacity of buses, children will not be allowed to ride on buses other than what is indicated in their normal bus schedule.  Problems and confusion arise when too many students change buses.  We will only make changes in the case of emergency.  If possible please notify us before 2:00pm if you have an emergency situation and need your child to ride another bus.  You can call 752-2680 during the school day and 752-2700 after 3:00pm if you have bus questions.

Safe Routes to Schools!!
We will be starting our Safe Routes to Schools Walking and Biking Program next Wednesday, September 10th.  Please look for more detailed information in our announcements and website later this week.

Our first full day of Kindergarten will be Tuesday, September 2nd.  Routes may be slightly longer in the morning and up to 10 minutes later in the afternoon as we are picking up and dropping off our new Kindergarten students.  We appreciate your patience.

SATEC FOUR WINDS PROGRAM

SATEC ODYSSEY OF THE MIND 2014-2015
What is Odyssey of the Mind (OOTM)?

It is an international competition that allows students to use creativity and “out of
the box” problem solving to create solutions to a problem. The open ended problems allow teams to create wildly different solutions while having fun in the process. The teams are given the chance to present their solutions at a state wide tournament held in March. * There will be a mandatory Parent/Player Fall Soccer Information Meeting on Wednesday, August 27th at the end of the girls' clinic and before the boys'.
This brief meeting will be held in the gym.

All participants must have their Parent/Player Participation form properly filled out and proof physical handed by Friday, August 29th in order to participate.

Our Cross Country program for grades 6-8 will begin on Monday, September 8th 3:30-4:30.
Students will meet in the gym after dismissal.
We ask parents to join us at the end of practice for more information on the season  and the program's expectations.

All participants must have their Parent/Player Participation form properly filled out and proof physical handed by Friday, September 5th in order to participate.
