PBiS Update
The Wildcat Olympics - Road to Acceptance started on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, with a passing of the torch video. Our flame today symbolizes "the light of spirit, knowledge and life," and signifies the passing of Acceptance in our Wildcat Olympics, acknowledging kindness, compassion, gratitude, and tolerance for all, and hopeful to be tradition for years to come. Once our Light of Acceptance cauldron is lit, it will remain lit until the end of our closing ceremony, located in the library window. Students have created class/community flags and will earn points for completing activities around kindness, compassion, gratitude and tolerance. Acts of kindness, compassion, showing gratitude and tolerance will be recognized and acknowledged.
COVID-19 Message
January 20, 2021
Greetings SATEC Families,
I have received information indicating that a member of our school community has tested positive for COVID 19 and a member of our school community is a probable positive COVID case, pending test results . As part of our Health and Safety measures and in consultation with the Department of Health, we are having our students in those affected classes move to a remote learning platform starting today Wednesday, January 20, 2021, until all quarantining requirements have been met.
All staff and students who are involved have been notified via a phone call or direct conversation. If you have not been contacted you or your children are not a close contact and you do not need to quarantine at this time.
We encourage all staff, students, and families to follow all the necessary COVID guidelines (wearing masks, staying home when sick, social distancing, and handwashing) and communicate with one of our nurses if you or your children might have symptoms.

SATEC Athletic Announcement Grades 5-8
SATEC will begin Basketball "skills and drills" practices starting January 19th for the students in 7th and 8th grade and on January 25th for students in grades 5th and 6th.
Before signing up, please make sure to understand the following changes for the 2021 Winter Sport Season regarding Covid-19 general guidance issued by the State on 12/22/2020 and amended by SATEC.
Facial Coverings are required to be worn by ALL players and coaches at ALL time as well maintaining the 6ft distance guidelines.
Under these conditions, at this time, there will be no contact or scrimmages allowed.
IF and When permitted under "Guidance for Specific Types of Sports", school-based winter sports may initiate interscholastic games. We have extended our seasons until mid March in hopes to play some games against other schools in our community.

By signing up you will receive information on regarding Covid-19 Guidelines, parent/player meetings, season schedules and more. If you signed your child up back in November you do not need to sign them up again.

All student-athletes with a later practice time must go home and return back to school 10 minutes before the start of practice. Players are not allowed in the without their coach, temperature check and hand sanitization.
