A Message from Principal Stebbins - A South Remote Learning Beginning Tomorrow December 3rd

December 2, 2020

Greetings SATEC Families,

I have received information from a member of our Learning Community that requires further investigation. As part of our Health and Safety measures and in consultation with the Department of Health we are having our 2nd graders and the PK classroom in ASouth move to a remote learning platform starting tomorrow, Thursday December 3rd until further notice.

We will remain in a remote learning platform until we have more information to share with you.

The teachers in AS will be reaching out to their individual classes to share the plans for the next couple of days and how materials can be picked up at school.

I thank you for your understanding and patience as I know this very short notice.

Sincerely,

Angela

Operation Happiness Food Drive Competition

November 16th-December 11th

Operation Happiness is a community initiative run by dedicated volunteers that relies heavily on the generosity and support of our community. With over 300 volunteers joining together each year, Operation Happiness is able to provide baskets of food during the holidays to over 1,100 families throughout Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. (fgiunitedway.org)

Every holiday season, SATEC families give back to the community in various ways. This year, we will once again be hosting a food drive to support Operation Happiness. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our collection efforts will look a little different this year.

In the past, we hosted friendly competitions between grade levels. This year, we’re coming together as a school, with a goal of 1000 total food items!

In 2017, we donated a total of 950 items.

In 2018, we donated a total of 1300 items.

In 2019, we donated a total of 650 items.

Can we reach 1000 in 2020? Let’s do it!

If you can spare any non-perishable food items, please send them in with your child. There will be a designated area in each grade’s community to leave items.  Thank you for your contribution to our food drive!

**A graph in the main hallway will track our progress. Pictures will be posted via Facebook and our school announcements for parents to follow. **
